- SMS Content: The content of text messages exchanged between your customers and your AI text-back, including any photos (MMS) sent by customers.
- Usage Data: Conversation logs, message timestamps, and service interaction metrics used to provide daily summaries and analytics.
- Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the AdaptLocal AI text-back service
- Train and customize your AI agent to accurately represent your business
- Process and respond to SMS messages from your customers on your behalf
- Send you daily summaries, alerts, and reports about customer interactions
- Process payments and manage your subscription
- Communicate with you about your account, updates, and support requests
- Improve and optimize our service
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or your customers' information to third parties for marketing purposes. We may share information with:
- Service Providers: Third-party services that help us operate our platform, including Twilio (SMS delivery), Anthropic (AI processing), Supabase (data storage), and Stripe (payment processing). These providers only access data necessary to perform their services and are bound by their own privacy policies.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AdaptLocal, our users, or others.
4. SMS Data and Customer Communications
SMS messages processed through our service are stored securely to provide conversation history, daily summaries, and service continuity. Customer phone numbers and message content are associated with your business account and are not shared with other AdaptLocal clients or used for marketing purposes. Message data is retained for the duration of your active subscription and for 30 days following account cancellation.
5. SMS Messaging Practices
AdaptLocal provides SMS-based AI text-back services. The following applies to all SMS communications sent through our platform:
- Consent: End users consent to receive SMS messages by initiating contact — texting the business's dedicated AdaptLocal phone number first. By texting the number, the customer is explicitly requesting a response and consents to receive AI-generated SMS replies. Business owners consent during account signup.
- Message Frequency: Message frequency varies based on customer interactions. Typical usage ranges from 1–50 messages per conversation.
- Message and Data Rates: Standard message and data rates may apply. Carrier fees are the responsibility of the message recipient.
- Opt-Out: End users can reply STOP to any AdaptLocal number at any time to opt out of messages. A single confirmation message will be sent, and no further messages will be delivered.
- Help: End users can reply HELP to any AdaptLocal number for support information and opt-out instructions.
- No Unsolicited Messages: No messages are sent to end users who have not first initiated contact. No contact lists are purchased or used. No unsolicited outbound messages are sent.
- Data Sharing: We do not share, sell, or provide mobile phone numbers or SMS opt-in data to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information collected as part of the AdaptLocal SMS program will only be used to deliver the AI text-back service.

6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (TLS/SSL), secure database storage, and access controls. While no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
7. Data Retention
We retain your business and account information for as long as your account is active. Conversation data is retained for the duration of your subscription. Upon account cancellation, we retain data for 30 days to allow for reactivation, after which it is permanently deleted.
8. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Access the personal and business information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Export your conversation history and customer data
- Opt out of non-essential communications
